Design Story
The Layered Array reduces light to its simplest architectural form — concentric rings. Each ring is CNC-machined from solid brass stock, brushed by hand, then fitted with an inner LED channel that directs light downward. The staggered suspension creates depth and shadow play.
Inspired by the precision of radial geometry, this piece transforms a functional light source into a study of proportion and layering. The three graduated rings — 200mm, 180mm, and 160mm in diameter — are spaced 100mm apart, creating a cascading effect that draws the eye through the composition.
